businesses, seniors, families and will adjust the program
to age and
interest. We also have Regularly Scheduled Tours Tuesday & Thursday
afternoons at 1pm. 45 minutes is the average for this tour.
We also do
in-depth Custom Tours of our farm operation.
 Basic
Tour
The basic
farm tour is about forty-five minutes to an hour long. It
includes an overview of farming in the Salinas Valley and
a description of the five-acre demonstration farm. Tour participants
will walk through the fields while different farming topics
are discussed. Tour members will be able to pick and sample
fresh produce.
Basic
tours are scheduled Tuesday and Thursday at
1pm. The tour cost is $8 for anyone age 16 and over,
$6 for
children
ages
2
through
15 and free for little ones younger than 2.
 School
and Group Tours
We welcome
school groups and other entities such as businesses, senior
organizations, study groups and travel tours. We can accommodate
any size group and will tailor our program to best suit the
age level and interests of each group.
School
or Group tours also include a hay wagon ride, the opportunity
to harvest one of our crops, and an introduction to the farm
animals.
 Fees
for our basic one hour School or Group tour are Adults $8,
Children under 16 are $6, Kids 2 and under are
free with a $25 minimum charge. Teachers and chaperones
of school groups are free. We reserve the right to adjust
the fees based on the size and nature of the group. Groups
of 10 or more receive a discount.
Custom
Tours
We offer
Custom Tours for groups of one-to-four persons interested
in an in-depth experience. The Custom Tour will give one-on-one
time with our farmer while visiting various parts of our
vegetable farming operations and taking part in the daily
routine of a real farmer. There are three basic packages
to choose from. Reservations must be made in advance.
Custom
Tour A (Overview)
Take a
one-hour ride with a local farmer and inspect the farming
process. This tour will open your eyes to the complexities
of a Salinas Valley vegetable farming operation.

- irrigating
- pest control
- planting
- transplanting
- cultivating
- fertilizing
- harvest process and final product.
Cost: $100 for a group of no more than four.
Custom
Tour B (Operational)
Spend
two hours with our farmer and experience all of Tour A, plus
hands-on participation in the farming and harvesting process.
This tour will give you a greater appreciation for the produce
that you buy at the store, as well as fascinating insights
into the people and process necessary to get vegetables onto
your dining room table.
- Ride on a 200+ horsepower tractor that is disking, ripping
or leveling land.
- Speak with our farm workers and learn the art of each of
their particular jobs.
- Try your hand at moving irrigation pipe or thinning lettuce.
- Experience the workings of a harvest crew. Try packing
a box of vegetables.
Cost: $200 for a group of no more than four.
Custom
Tour C (Vegetable Industry)
Spend
three hours with our farmer and experience all of Tour B
plus a visit to the headquarters of our vegetable operation.
This tour will give you a much broader view of the agricultural
industry.
- Meet the people that oversee the operation that gets produce
from the farm to the table.
- Tour the cooling facilities for our produce.
- Enjoy lunch at one of the local produce "hang-outs" with
our farmer.
Cost: $300 for a group of no more than four.

Mix and
match from any of the selections above that are of special
interest to you.
